The GemPC Card PCMCIA reader from Gemalto allows the use of Smartcards for most laptops and PDA’s with a PC Card type II slot and incorporates Gemalto's market leading single chip interface. The cleverly designed casing allows the reader to sit flush within the card slot and leaves a small amount of an inserted card showing to allow for easy retraction.
The GemPC Card reader meets the EMV specifications version 4.0, supports all ISO 7816 class A, B and C cards (5 V, 3 V and 1.8 V), all ISO 7816 TA1 parameters (up to 344 Kbps) and extended APDU commands as well as being PC/SC and EMV level 1 approved.
The reader comes complete with WHQL approved drivers for Windows as well as support for other operating systems such as Linux.
The GemPC Card PCMCIA reader is a high-performance, compact and lightweight Smartcard reader/writer and allows the implementation of smartcard applications in an on the move environment.
