The @Maxx Prime from SCM (previously the @Maxx Basic) is a multi-function SIM sized USB smartcard reader combined with 1GB of on-board flash memory, a micro SD card slot and a built-in antenna connected to the card for contactless applications.
The @Maxx Prime's slim USB connector plugs into any free USB port offering ideal functionality for deploying and implementing secure applications. The built-in antenna connects to the C4/C8 contacts of the SIM, providing contactless smartcard functionality when used in autonomous mode with a suitable card module. WHQL approved Windows drivers are available in addition to Linux and MacOS X support.
By combining these technologies in one device SCM have created a solution for the cost-efficient handling of sensitive data giving the user the opportunity to utilise the device for applications such as secure authentication, secure logical access, as a physical access token, a contactless ePayment token, a secure private data storage device and for PKI application support.
