The SCT3511 SIM reader from SCM is a pocket-sized USB 2.0 reader that is fully PC/SC and EMV compliant, and which provides additional contactless functionality through a built-in antenna connected to the C4 and C8 contacts of the inserted smartcard.
Perfect for various logon and security applications on desktop PCs or laptops, the embedded antenna allows the aerial interface of an appropriately manufactured SIM-sized combi card to be enabled for communication with separate contactless readers.
The durable and practically designed reader includes a hinged cover allowing for easy insertion and removal of the SIM sized card whilst also keeping it in place inside the unit. When used with appropriate combi cards it enables the reader to be used for physical access control and similar applications.
