The Prox-SU from Gemalto is a contactless USB smartcard reader that will read/write to both Mifare and ISO 14443 A/B cards and NFC tags as well as support additional security through a built-in SAM slot.
This version of the Prox-SU is housed in a slim and elegant case with a permanent stand for convenient desktop use. The reader has been designed to evolve by allowing rapid firmware upgrade.
The reader is PC/SC and CCID compliant and connects to PC environments and other systems using USB 2.0 full speed interface.
The Prox-SU is ideal for use in a wide range of applications where additional security is key, such as physical and logical access control and loyalty programs.
The Prox-SU is compatible with Read-a-Card, the contactless card ID reading application, useful for the integration of RFID technology into new or existing systems.
