IDPrime 931 is the name for a hybrid card from Thales (formerly Gemalto) that includes the IDPrime 930 chip together with another technology, in this case EM4200 from EM Microelectronic and MIFARE Classic EV1 from NXP. It is a plug & play PKI smartcard that provides the necessary security services to implement a strong two-factor logical access and security infrastructure on Windows and other platforms. The IDPrime 930 is a contact interface smart card that supports the ISO 7816 standard, and is Common Criteria EAL6+ certified. This smartcard is FIPS 140-2 Level 2 compliant, a natural replacement for the Gemalto ID Prime MD 830 L2 or L3, with enhanced cryptographic support (including RSA up to 4096 bits and elliptic curve algorithms).
Fully compliant with the latest Microsoft minidriver specifications for use on Windows, without the need for additional middleware, the necessary driver will install automatically and for free, using plug-and-play.
This version includes a built-in low frequency EM4200 RFID chip, and a high frequency (13.56MHz) MIFARE Classic 1K chip providing a useful and flexible combination that can be used for logical and physical access control and other RFID-based applications such as time and attendance or print-release.
