The ACR89-A2 from ACS is an advanced, dual-interface version of the standard ACR89 secure smartcard terminal that combines a high resolution graphical LCD, 4 LED status indicators, 2 full size landing, 3 SAM/mini-SIM slots and a contactless interface that communicates with ISO 14443 A/B cards, FeliCa, as well as ISO 18092 cards and tags for NFC. With large programmable memory features and very low energy consumption, the ACR89-A2 is designed for highly demanding multi-application areas.

The ACR89-A2 also features a long battery life with a rechargeable Li-ion battery, USB firmware upgradability, large programmable memory and a high performance 32-bit RISC processor.

The ACR89-A2 can operate in both stand-alone battery-powered and connected mode. Equipped with a highly durable colour-coded PIN-pad, this terminal is suitable for various smartcard applications including Loyalty, e-Payment, e-Healthcare and e-Government.
