The MIFARE DESFire EV1 256 byte label from NXP is the entry level product in the MIFARE DESFire EV1 family, with a 7 byte unique identifier.

This read-write DESFire EV1 label is ideal for applications with low memory but high security and data integrity requirements. It operates at 13.56 MHz wireless frequency, according to the ISO/IEC 14443A standard. The MIFARE DESFire EV1 label has 256 bytes of application memory, organised in a file system, using ISO/IEC 7816-4 commands.

The MIFARE DESFire EV1 label offers fast data transfer rates of up to 848kbit/s and an operating distance of up to 100mm depending on the power provided by the reader.

It includes on-chip backup management, mutual three-pass authentication, anti-tear mechanism and encrypted communication. Ideal for smart visitor badges, public transport ticketing, event ticketing and loyalty schemes as well as access control.
