The Omnikey 5023 reader from HID is a 13.56MHz contactless smartcard reader that works with a wide range of high frequency physical access card types including iClass Seos, iClass SE, iClass, MIFARE Classic and MIFARE DESFire, as well as dual-interface (T=CL) smartcards that conform to ISO 14443.

This reader has been integrated and tested with HID Global's ActivID ActivClient, ActivID Applets and HID Trusted Tag service. It uses the Omnikey driver platform to provide Windows Plug-and-Play support, which allows the reader to be used in most end-user environments with minimal administrator support.

This is an enhanced version of the Omnikey 5021 and 5022 CL readers. It has the same small and stylish case, but contains an additional cryptographic module, to accommodate the Secure Identity Object (SIO) security scheme used by newer iClass SE and iClass Seos cards. Dedicated software is required to read these card types.

Compatible with Read-a-Card for Windows, including support for reading iClass Seos and iClass SE cards and credentials.

There is also a handy card retainer that will fit this reader and a mounting bracket is available.
