NXP SAM AV3

The SAM AV3 from NXP is an ISO 7816 T=1 SAM card (Security Access Module) that has been designed for a broad range of readers supporting DES, TDEA, AES and RSA capabilities.

Offering proven interoperability with the NXP portfolio of cards the NXP MIFARE SAM AV3 ensures a secure and versatile SAM solution in a variety of infrastructures. Compatible cards include MIFARE Ultralight, MIFARE Ultralight C, MIFARE 1K & 4K, MIFARE Plus, MIFARE DESFire EV1 EV2 and EV3, MIFARE DESFire Light, NTAG DNA, ICODE DNA, UCODE DNA and SmartMX solutions.

This card offers a high level of security. It is built on a secure smartcard controller platform with CC EAL6 certification. Its composite software has been certified by the MIFARE Security Evaluation Scheme. And the cryptographic algorithms have been certified by the FIPS-2 CAVP.

The SAM AV3 builds on the features that were included in the successful SAM AV2. It now includes a facility to customise key diversification, secure messaging and secure storage logic to suit your project, which can be used by NXP partners. It also supports X-mode communication with NXPs contactless reader ICs (RC663, RC52x, PN512), for faster interactions between card and reader, where the SAM is connected to the microcontroller and reader IC simultaneously.

Suitable for a wide range of application areas such as Access Management, Public Transport, Loyalty Systems, Micro Payment, Road Tolling and Embedded Identification Systems the NXP SAM AV3 features advanced cryptography and high-speed communication functionalities.
