This expandable package allows users to operate a single door with secure entry and exit utilising an iClass/MiFare CSN reader and EdgeConnector. EdgeConnector is a software solution that integrates Ethernet-connected door controllers into user directories such as Active Directory. The result is a single database that is used to manage all access rights, and that knows the status and location of any user at any time.
The Edge Host control unit can utilise PoE (Power over Ethernet) and has inputs available for a single weigand reader, 'Push to exit' button, door monitor sensor, AC and battery fail monitor and enclosure tamper.
The included iClass/MiFare reader is an HID R10 unit designed to securely read HID iClass cards as well as MiFare card serial numbers. Installation is simple with the reader connecting to your Edge Host unit by an easily extendible standard multi-core cable. The Edge Host unit then connects directly to your network by a single PoE-equipped CAT-5 cable, and to the door locking hardware, with 600 mA available to drive a standard 12v magnet or door strike.
This package contains:
- 1 x Edge Host E400 control unit
- 1 x R10 – iClass/MiFare CSN reader
- 1 x Edge Connector Software - Door License
All that is needed to complete the installation is a door magnet or door strike and a 'press to exit' button, if required. Some of these low-cost parts can be found here in our store, others are readily available and can easily be sourced from a local or online locksmith. Edge Host is a future proof solution allowing growing physical and logical access systems to evolve.
