Out-of-the-box, standards-compliant support for thousands of logical access applications
The Crescendo series smartcard specialises in logical and physical access control applications incorporating HID’s iClass and HID Proximity or MiFare technologies with a cryptographic contact chip. By combining logical and physical access control in a single card the Crescendo series reduces card management costs and increases user convenience. The kit contains both MiFare and iClass options of the Crescendo smartcard allowing users to evaluate and test integration of both technologies with any physical access systems already in place.
As well as including the relevant drivers and Crescendo CSP the Evaluation Kit also contains Smartcard Focus’ Crescendo start-up guide designed to help users easily set up Microsoft Windows Smartcard authentication. This guide contains detailed instructions on setting up Windows smartcard logon emphasising the main aspects specific to enabling and running a secure two-factor authentication system. The addition of this guide creates an all round easy to use package and gives IT managers a wealth of information to help combine logical and physical access control in a single card. To evaluate the logical access features of the Crescendo cards you will require at least one of the following smartcard readers:- Omnikey 3121 - Our most popular USB desktop smartcard reader.
- Omnikey 4040 - PCMCIA smartcard reader suitable for many laptops.
- Omnikey 4321 - Smartcard reader for laptops with the new ExpressCard slot interface.
Further supplies of all cards and readers are available from our store.
Note: To select a facility code and numbering scheme for iClass 32K/Prox Crescendo smartcards enter your requirements into the 'special instructions' box during the checkout process or contact us to discuss your options. If no details are given cards will be supplied without programming. An additional charge will be made for cards which later require a facility code and numbering scheme.

Crescendo C700 + iClass 32K/Prox
The Crescendo series smartcard specialises in logical and physical access control applications incorporating HID’s iClass and Proximity technologies with a cryptographic contact chip. By combining logical and physical access control in a single card the Crescendo C700 series reduces card management costs and increases user convenience. Crescendo C700 series smartcards are fully compatible with the Microsoft Windows Smartcard Framework (WSF) and supports applications such as Windows Domain logon, VPN, Microsoft Office Outlook, secure Web access, and wireless LAN authentication.
The Crescendo C700 series of smartcards use a powerful contact chip with a cryptographic co-processor suitable for highly secure logical access control. Crescendo smartcards are supplied pre-initialised with the required on-card software and include all required drivers and middleware giving out-of-the-box, standards-compliant support for logical access control applications. By incorporating HID’s iClass and Prox technologies alongside the contact chip, users can also meet their secure physical access control needs in one card.

iClass 2k2
The iClass 2k2 card from HID is a contactless smartcard enabled for use with HID’s access control systems. The card contains 2k bits (256 Byte) of memory and can be configured to 2 application areas. The first application area provides the HID standard access control and the other is customisable to user requirements.
The iClass 2k2 card meets ISO 15693 standard for contactless communications.
The cards come in plain white format with sequential numbering (with facility code 001).
