Edge Solo + R10
Easy to Install IP Access Control Solution The HID Edge Solo + iClass/MiFare reader is a cost-effective, stand-alone, single-door access control solution that connects directly to existing IT infrastructure. The self contained Edge Solo control unit is powered over Ethernet (PoE) and enables remote management and report generation via a standard web browser. Access rights, user information, administration, door configuration and retrieval of events are managed through the embedded web interface with no additional software required. Unlike most other access control systems, Edge Solo provides fully distributed intelligence and decision making at the door, maximising flexibility whilst minimising installation and maintenance costs.
The included iClass/MiFare reader is an HID R10 unit designed to securely read HID iClass cards as well as MiFare card serial numbers. Installation is simple with the reader connecting to your Edge Solo unit by an easily extendible standard multi-core cable. The Edge Solo unit then connects directly to your network by a single PoE-equipped CAT-5 cable, and to the door locking hardware, with 600 mA available to drive a standard 12v magnet or door strike.
The package also contains 5 sample cards or keyfobs. Choose from either - 5 x iClass 2k2 cards chosen for their compatibility with HID access control systems or 5 x MiFare keyfobs containing a MiFare Classic 1K chip, an alternative option for contactless systems. A wide range of compatible cards and tags are also available from our store.

ACM120 Serial Module
The ACM120 Serial is a compact and cost-effective contactless reader/writer module which supports Mifare® cards and ISO 14443 A/B cards. It is designed for integration into third-party hardware, and is small enough to fit within most single-gang electrical switch boxes.
It retains all of the functionality of the ACR120 reader, including an internal etched PCB antenna. The reading range is up to 5 cm depending on the contactless card or tag. In addition, the module has a buzzer, LED and relay that can be triggered under software control, allowing various applications such as door access control to be implemented without additional hardware.
The RS232 serial interface can be connected to COM1 or COM2 of a PC, and a supply voltage of 5 volts is also required.
Now includes a FREE trial copy of 'Read-a-Card', the contactless card ID reading application, exclusive to Smartcard Focus.

Read-a-Card software only
Smartcard Automation Tool
With Read-a-Card you can easily view a contactless smartcard's unique ID and automatically insert it into text input fields on other applications, helping with the easy integration of RFID technology into new or existing systems. This is sometimes known as a keyboard 'wedge' and replaces similar functions of barcode scanners.
This ability provides obvious integration opportunities in both hardware and software development and is made even more versatile by the capability to set the card ID format you want Read-a-Card to use. The software also allows for the recording of time stamps when a card is presented offering opportunities for event logging in applications such as time recording and access functions.
Read-a-Card is a software utility that runs on a Windows PC and reads card ID information from ISO14443 A/B and ISO15693 contactless cards and tags using any PC/SC V2.0 contactless reader plus a number of other supported devices. With the Omnikey CM5321, Read-a-Card will also read card numbers from iClass cards in standard Wiegand 26 bit or 37 bit format. For a full overview of compatible cards and readers along with several screen shots click the 'more info' button below.
A free trial of Read-a-Card is available with all compatible contactless readers sold by Smartcard Focus.

Read-a-Card + Omnikey 5321
Low cost PC iClass & MiFare reading solution
This package allows users to quickly read the card number of iClass cards and the unique card ID of MiFare cards. By default Read-a-Card automatically inserts this into the PC’s keyboard buffer. This package is designed to help with the easy integration of iClass and MiFare technology into new or existing systems.
As well as iClass and MiFare cards, Read-a-Card reads card ID information from all ISO14443 A/B and ISO15693 contactless cards and tags. For a full overview of compatible cards and readers along with several screen shots click the 'more info' button below.
The package includes the Omnikey 5321 dual interface USB 2.0 PC-linked reader (previously the CardMan CM5321) that will read/write to both a 13.56 MHz RFID contactless smartcard and virtually any contact smartcard. The dual interface feature economically supports end-user environments where both contactless and contact smartcard technology may be in use. The CardMan 5321 is based on a 13.56 MHz contactless smartcard RFID interface that is compliant with ISO specifications 14443 A and B and 15693.
The housing design is optimized for advanced user convenience in contactless applications, and includes a see-through holder for keeping cards in place while in use.
