The Omnikey 5422 from HID is a dual interface USB smartcard reader that reads/writes to both 13.56 MHz contactless and virtually any contact smartcard technology.

The Omnikey 5422 is compliant with ISO specifications 14443 A/B and 15693 for contactless and 7816 for contact smartcard technologies. The reader features native CCID implementation, supporting Windows, Linux and Mac operating systems. Compatible with HID Global solutions, this reader supports ActivID® ActivClient, ActivID® Applets, and HID Trusted Tag® Service.

A handy card retainer that will fit this reader will be included, free of charge, while stocks last.

Note: Although fully CCID and PC/SC compliant, this reader is not 100% backwards-compatible with the previous model (Omnikey 5421) when running software that uses the extended API, such as reading iClass cards. Please therefore check compatibility prior to ordering.
